Marysville’s varsity boys basketball team dropped a heart-breaking 46-44 verdict to Delaware Hayes on Saturday.
The contest was a tight battle the entire way.
MHS held a 13-12 edge after the opening quarter and the score was deadlocked at 22-all by halftime.
The Pacers went on top, 36-35, by the end of the third period.
Marysville hit 17 field goals, of which four were three-pointers.
The Pacers also sank four trifectas out of their 16 shots from the floor.
The free throw line played a big role in the outcome of the contest.
Delaware Hayes hit 10-of-16 charity tosses.
On the other hand, MHS (1-3) made just six-of-14.
Kade Focht led the Monarchs (who will play at Thomas Worthington on Friday) with 13 points, while Jason Moore finished with 11.
