Marysville’s boys varsity hoop squad upped its record to 3-0 on Saturday by clubbing Mt. Vernon, 58-42.
The Monarchs held a 25-19 margin at halftime and took a 42-32 lead into the final eight minutes of play.
Jack Christian and Bodie Eberhart combined for 32 points to lead the Monarchs.

Pioneers win
Jackson Izzard tossed in 21 points on Friday as Jonathan Alder improved its record to 3-0 with a 45-21 triumph over Bellefontaine.
The Pioneers led 12-5 after the first quarter and took a 17-15 edge at halftime.
Alder’s defense clamped down during the second half as the Pioneers took a 30-17 lead into the final eight minutes of action.

Jonathan Alder’s girls ran their record to 4-0 on Saturday with a 58-57 thriller over Kenton Ridge.
JA led 37-21 at halftime and took a 48-36 margin going into the fourth period.
JA was able to hold off the Cougars’ fierce rally during the final eight minutes.

MHS held a 28-17 lead at halftime and limited the Cougars to just five points during the third set.
The Lady Monarchs took a 49-22 lead into the third quarter and coasted to victory.
Cassidy Francisco led MHS with 12 points, while Caitlin Cotner and Tinley Graves each added 10.

North Union’s varsity boys dropped a 38-35 verdict at Urbana on Friday.
The Hilltoppers held an 8-6 lead after the first period and limited NU to just eight points during the second quarter.
Urbana took a 23-14 margin at the turn and a 34-29 lead going into the fourth period.
Connor Terrill, Trevor Moran and Preston Crabtree each scored eight points as the Wildcats slipped to 2-1.
Also scoring for North Union were Harley Day-six, Gavin Webb-three and Joel Krebehenne-two.
Urbana’s Grant Hower led all scorers with 26 points.
Lady Cats fall
North Union’s girls dropped a 44-33 decision to Benjamin Logan on Saturday.
The Lady Cats (1-4) struggled on offense during the opening half and trailed 16-10 at the turn.
The Raiders took a 32-26 lead into the final period.

The Bunsold Middle School Red girls hoopsters defeated Delaware Christian, 50-26.
The 5-0 Lady Monarchs were led by Maddie Hansen with 12 points.
