Marysville’s boys tennis squad opened the 2024 season with a 5-0 victory over Hilliard Bradley.
Results from singles matches were as follows:
-Gianni Russo (M) beat Dixon (HB) 6-2, 6-0;
-Noah Burhanna (M) downed Chitti (HB) 6-3, 6-3;
-Will Nuspl (M) defeated Bagchi (HB) 6-3, 7-6.
Kyrell Stauffer and Soorya Logan (first doubles) put a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory on the board over Hanks and Gil.
Brady Scott and Jacob Burhanna made it a clean sweep for the Monarchs.
They won the second doubles match over Suri and Hosni by a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 count.
JA downs Bellefontaine
Jonathan Alder also got its tennis season off to a strong start with a 4-1 triumph over Bellefontaine.
Gideon Sullivan defeated Sims 6-3, 6-2 during the second singles contest.
Josh Weakley turned in a 6-2, 6-3 victory at third singles over Fissell.
Alder’s first doubles team of Drew Corbitt and Connor Boggs won their match over Taylor and Harris 7-6, 6-4.
Seth Dickman and Noah Kuck won the second doubles contest with a 2-6, 6-1, 10-8 verdict over Abrego-Slagle and Quentin.
The lone Pioneer setback came at first singles.
Howell of Bellefontaine beat Isaac Banks 6-1, 7-5.
