Marysville High School athletic officials are hanging out the “help wanted” sign for a new head varsity swimming coach.
Beth Seman, who held the head coaching spot for the past three seasons, has stepped down.
“Beth wants to devote her energy to her family at this time,” said Marysville athletic director Joey Day.
Seman served four total seasons in the MHS swimming program, having been an assistant coach for one campaign.
Day said he is in the process of accepting applications for the position.
They will be permitted through Thursday, March 31.
Day said previous head coaching experience in the sport is preferred, but not a requirement.
“Beth did a great job of establishing the culture of our swimming program, especially during a difficult time with COVID-19,” said Day.
High school swimming programs were forced to modify schedules during the 2020-2021 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are looking for a new coach who will continue to build on the culture that Beth established and be able to take it to the next level,” said Day.
“We’re looking for someone with strong leadership qualifications and who has a vision and philosophy that will impact our kids in a positive way.”
