Marysville’s varsity softball team split a doubleheader against Northridge on Saturday.
The Lady Monarchs allowed the visitors to plate four runs in the top of the seventh during the opening game.
That broke a 3-3 stalemate and sent MHS to a 7-3 loss.
The Lady Monarchs led, 1-0, after two frames and then added two scores in the fourth to take a 3-2 margin.
Northridge tied the game at 3-3 with a run in the sixth.
Izzy Shroyer started in the pitching circle and went the first three innings. She gave up four hits.
Jewely Livingston took the loss as she hurled the final four frames.
She was tagged for five hits and five runs, three of which were earned.
Emily Daniel and Genesis Brooks each had three of MHS’ nine hits.
Also hitting safely were Shroyer, Ashley Dunn and Abby Gindlesberger.

Marysville survived a five-run seventh frame for Northridge and won the nightcap, 9-8, with a pair of scores in the home half of the inning.
Northridge held a 3-1 advantage until the Lady Monarchs (15-6) plated six runs over the fifth and sixth frames.
Northridge (4-12) took an 8-7 lead in the top of the seventh before MHS’ rally.
Shroyer pitched the final one-third of an inning and got the win in relief.
Gindlesberger pitched one inning and was lifted in favor of Livingston.
Livingston surrendered five hits and four earned runs in 5 2/3 innings.
Sydney Wade homered and drove in three runs for Marysville.
Shroyer, Leah Potter and Jaynn Young each had two hits.
Marysville had fielding miscues on the day with a total of seven errors during the twinbill.

Cardinals fall
Triad’s baseball team slipped to 10-10 on the season with a 5-3 loss to West Jefferson.
The Cardinals led, 2-0, going into the fourth inning.
West Jeff took a 3-2 lead in the fourth, only to see Triad tie the game at 3-3 in the fifth.
West Jefferson plated two runs in the fifth to win the contest.
Isaiah Bruce took the pitching loss for Triad, which will host Mechanicsburg today.
He struck out seven in six innings and allowed six hits. Only one of West Jefferson’s runs was earned.
Bruce went three-for-four at the plate.
