Marysville’s varsity wrestling team placed 13th during the 32-team Josh Hepner Memorial Tournament over the weekend.
The event was held at Austintown Fitch High School.
“We put this event on our schedule for a couple reasons,”said MHS head coach Shawn Andrews. “Our staff feels like the competition in Northeast Ohio is the right challenge for our team.
“The format of this event allowed most of our guys to get five-to-eight matches.”
Zach McMinn took third place in the 285-pound division with a 6-1 record.
Ben Bickerstaff (182) placed fourth with a 5-2 mark and Colton Powers (160) posted a 5-3 record and placed sixth.

MHS’ varity B team placed 12th out of 21 squads at Marion Pleasant’s Sally George Invitational.
Emilio Guerrero placed second at 120 pounds.
Riley Miller (152) and Jayden Simmons (160) each placed fifth, while Brady Seger took sixth-place at 138 pounds.
