Will compete in state duals at St. Ed on Saturday
Marysville’s varsity boys wrestling squad won both matches during a triangular competition on Wednesday at Bloom Carroll.
The Monarchs beat Teays Valley, 43-31, and rolled to a 74-6 verdict over Bloom Carroll.
“We had the chance to join a mid-week tri-meet at Bloom Carroll,” said MHS coach Shawn Andrews. “As mentioned earlier, this year’s scheduling has been very flexible and fluid (due to COVID-19).
“Bloom Carroll reached out that they had an opening and we jumped on the opportunity,” he said. “Teays Valley was one of the teams in our home tournament that had to be canceled in December.
“We were glad to see them before the postseason, as they are a top five team in the Division I district with four or five state-level wrestlers.”
