Marysville’s boys varsity lacrosse squad kicked off the springtime fever with a 15-11 win over Grove City.
The JV and varsity games were played at Marysville.
Hunter Sheldon led the MHS charge. He scored five goals.
Ben Durey and Jamie Best each tallied three goals.
Adding to the scoring barrage was Julian Kennedy (two), Lincoln Engle and Dusty Bernard.
Dishing assists in the win with one each were Kennedy, Durey and Branson Welgand.
Inside the cage, goalie Sean McGee collected 11 saves on 28 shot attempts from Grove City.
The Monarch junior varsity fell short of Grove City, 7-6, prior to the varsity matchup.
Scoring for Marysville were Ben Alessi (two), Nicholas Cavine (two) and Alex Seibers (two).
Saxton Bond and Maddox Baker split time guarding the cage, recording 13 saves on 27 shot attempts.
Now at 1-0 on the season, Marysville will travel to Licking Valley for a 7 p.m. game on Friday.
