Marysville’s boys varsity basketball team slipped to 1-4 on the season with Friday’s 62-51 loss at Thomas Worthington.
The Monarchs (who will travel to Mt. Vernon on Wednesday) led 10-9 after the opening period.
The contest remained close throughout the second quarter and the Cardinals climbed to a 31-27 lead by halftime.
Thomas Worthington put a little more separation between themselves and the Monarchs during the third stanza.
The Cardinals held a 46-39 spread as action moved into the fourth quarter.
Nick Wever was the lone Monarch in double figures as he tallied 14 points.
