Marysville’s boys placed second and the girls were third during the recent Delaware Hayes Track and Field Invitational.
Hayes placed first in both meets and Columbus Whetstone was the runner-up in the girls meet.
Other schools participating were Olentangy Berlin, Buckeye Valley, Marion Harding, Delaware Christian and Franklin Heights.
Boys’ team scores were Hayes-168, Marysville-146, Berlin-122, Harding-81, Buckeye Valley-75, Whetstone-37, Franklin Heights-20.
Girls’ team scores were Hayes-158, Whetstone-113, MHS-111, Berlin-94.50, Buckeye Valley-71, Harding-65.5, Delaware Christian-11 and Franklin Heights-11.
First and second place efforts for the Monarchs were as follows:

-Pole vault: Noah Stowell, second, 11-0;
-110 meter hurdles: Zac Galvis, first, 14.98;
-1600 meter run: Blake Murgatroyd, second, 4:36.89;
-4×100 meter relay: second (Dominic Brown, Brody McSwords, Richard Willis, Joseph Hiltscher), 44.71;
-300 meter hurdles: Galvis, first, 41.88;
-800 meter run: Evan Donahue, second, 2:05.10;
-200 meter dash: Hiltscher, second, 22.69;

The Monarchs also competed in a triangular meet at Delaware Hayes last week.
The event also included Thomas Worthington.
Thomas Worthington won the boys’ meet with 69 points. MHS finished with 57 and Hayes tallied 46.
Worthington’s girls won their meet with 72 points.
The Lady Monarchs and Hayes both notched 50.
