The Monarch boys basketball team got back on the winning track with a 65-60 verdict over Marion Harding.
Jason Moore tallied 22 points as Marysville upped its record to 6-10 for the season.
Ryker Bowden followed with 16 and Nick Wever added 12.
Moore, who also snared 11 rebounds, tallied a career-high in points, as did Bowden.
The Monarchs, who will host Central Crossing tonight, held an 11-9 edge after the opening quarter.
Moore notched 10 points during the ensuing set, which sent Marysville into the halftime turn with a 28-18 advantage.
Bowden took up the slack during the third quarter with 13 points as MHS held a 52-35 lead.
The Presidents (10-6) staged a fierce fourth-period rally, but fell short.
The Monarchs hit 24 field goals, half of which came from beyond the three-point arc.

Lady Pioneers clinch outright title
Jonathan Alder’s girls scored a 48-39 verdict over Tecumseh.
In doing so, the Lady Pioneers (17-4) earned the outright Kenton Trail Division crown in the Central Buckeye Conference.
JA finished 10-0 in the circuit.
Tecumseh held a 12-9 lead after the first period and a 24-21 edge at halftime.
Alder limited the home team to seven points during the third set and took a 38-31 margin into the final eight minutes of action.
Mary Ferrito led Jonathan Alder with 18 points.
She was followed by Evan Platfoot-nine, Katie Hooley-eight, Avery Murdock-six, Ellis Heisler-four and Reggan Gray-three.

Lady Panthers roll
Fairbanks’ girls upped their record to 15-5 overall and 11-4 in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
The Lady Panthers raced to a 58-9 triumph over neighboring Triad.
The Lady Cardinals slipped to 2-16 overall and 1-12 in the OHC.
FHS (which will play at Centerburg on Wednesday) jumped out to a 14-2 margin by the end of the opening period.
The Lady Panthers elevated their advantage to 41-7 by the halftime break.
Triad (which will play at West Jefferson on Wednesday, was held scoreless during the third quarter.
As such, Fairbanks had a 54-7 lead by the time the fourth period began.
Macy Miller led the Lady Panthers with a game-high 16 points, while Elaina Lahmers added 14 and Reese Poling finished with 12.
Others scoring for FHS were Ellie Carter-eight, Anna Poling-three, Lindsey Smith-two, Kate Ruff-two and Carly Lehman-one.
Madi Cox tallied five points and one steal for Triad.
Ashlyn McCoy notched four rebounds.

JA boys triumph
Jonathan Alder’s boys stepped out from the Central Buckeye Conference and turned in a 52-45 victory over Heath.
The Bulldogs held a 15-8 lead after the opening period, but managed just two points during the ensuing quarter.
The Pioneers (13-4) climbed to a 23-17 lead by halftime and took a 31-29 margin at the end of the third quarter.
JA hit a red-hot 56% of its field goals for the game.
Peyton Heiss led Alder (which will play at Tecumseh tonight) with 23 points.
He was followed by Grant Welsch-12, Taber Headings-10, Joey Walker-five and Tyler Begin-two.

Cardinals edge Ben Logan
Triad’s boys improved to 7-11 with a 62-61 victory over Benjamin Logan.
Ayden Sanford tallied a career-high 30 points for the Cardinals (who will travel to West Liberty-Salem on Tuesday.
Caleb Thomas finished with nine, followed by Tyler Perry-seven, Carson Manley-six, Cameron Thomas-six and Ayden Spriggs-two.
