North Union scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to earn a 9-8 softball win over Indian Lake.
The Lady Cats (11-1, 13-3) bumped their lead in the Central Buckeye Conference to three-and-a-half games over the Lakers (8-5, 12-7).
NU started the game strong, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning.
Indian Lake tallied eight runs over its first two innings.
Lady Cat errors played a key role in the Lakers’ runs as seven of the scores were unearned.
Reese DeCamp moved into the pitching circle after the second inning for North Union. She surrendered just two hits, walked one and struck out two.
North Union cut its deficit to 8-6 with two runs in the fifth inning.
That set up the winning rally in the seventh.
With the bases loaded, Jayla Kelley singled to center to score Laine Sparks and Candace Holloway to give North Union the upper hand.
Sparks and Kayla Sedgwick each hit a double and two singles, while Kelley had two singles and Holloway notched a double.
