Jonathan Alder’s girls tennis squad is hoping to place as high in the Central Buckeye Conference as it did during the 2018 season.
It’s just that the Lady Pioneers don’t want anyone near them.
Alder tied with Kenton Ridge for the CBC Kenton Trail Division crown last fall by dropping only one conference match.
Head coach Brett Fuller said the squad’s goal is to claim the outright championship this season.
Jonathan Alder is led by four returning lettermen, including doubles partners Abigail Watkins and Eliza Watkins.
The duo went unbeaten in CBC competition a year ago.
Veterans Maddy Grove and Chloe Sullivan are solid singles players.
Fuller will have the luxury of numerous players on the team.
“We are very deep with our roster this season,” he said.
Rounding out the outfit are among, others, Brooklyn Banks, Erica Beachy, Makayla Coppus, Peyton Crownover, Levron Friend, Reagan Geiger, Audrey Gearhart, Taylor Horne, Ashlei Kelley and Savannah Kramer.
