An eight-run outburst in the first inning led North Union’s softball team to an 11-1 win over St. Paris Graham.
The game was shortened to five innings by the run rule.
Candace Holloway slugged a pair of home runs for the Lady Cats, while Emma Padavanno also hit a homer.
Holloway tallied a single and drove in five runs.
Kayla Sedgwick posted three singles, while Cagney Stewart, Jada Davis, Reese DeCamp and Baylee Grubb each had one single.
DeCamp was the winning pitcher. She tossed the first three innings with Brenna Martino going into the pitching circle for the final two frames.
They combined to give up just one hit, while striking out five and walking one.
The Lady Cats improved to 2-0 with the victory.

Team falls
North Union scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but could not add to its total.
As a result, the Wildcat baseball squad fell 10-3 to Graham.
Evan Hoffer drove in two of the runs with a double, while Ozzy Wilson had a run-scoring single.
Hoffer added another double in the game.
Aaron Krebehenne belted two singles, Tyler Krebehenne smacked a double and Landon Converse had a single.
Trevor Krebehenne was the losing pitcher as NU slipped to 2-1.
