The North Union track teams will be moving on in the Division II Central District finals after placing well at the preliminary meet.
The boys moved through the majority of their events with Adam Brown turning in the top performance with a second-place finish of 2:09.49 in the 800-meter run.
Brennan Griffith will also be moving on to the finals in the 800 with an eighth-place finish in a time of 2:12.23.
Kyle Willis also finished well in the 100 and 200 events. He claimed the fourth spot in the 200 with a qualifying time of 23.72 and a time of 11.74 for sixth place in the 100.
Michael Brandt will run the 110 hurdles in the finals after he finished with a qualifying time of 17.74 for sixth place.
Also racing in the finals meet will be the 4 x 200 relay team.
The group of Austin Jamison, Tucker Berridge, Nick Miller and Willis finished in a time of 1:37 for fifth place.
The 4 x 400 relay team of Brandon Hamby, Berridge, Griffith and Brown finished in a time of 3:45, good enough for seventh place.
The 4 x 800 relay was run as final.
The NU team of Gabe Burggraf, Griffith, Danny Burggraf and Brown finished in a time of 8:46 to take fifth place.
The following Wildcats did not qualify for the finals:
-100 dash: Jamison, 16th, 12.35;
-300 hurdles: Brandt, 16th, 48.87;
-400 dash: Miller, 10th, 56.75, Hamby, 11th, 56.98.
The Lady Cats also competed at the district preliminary meet. Abby Davis turned in North Union’s top performance with a first-place finish in both the 200 and 400 dashes.
Davis finished the 200 in a time of 24.98 and was clocked at 58.1 in the 400.
The Lady Cats where able to take fifth place in the 4x 800 relay with a time of 10:41.
The following Lady Cats did not qualify for the finals:
-100: Zoe Smith, 19th, 15.03;
-200: Sadie Spriggs, 15th, 30.62;
-400: Meghan Fuller, 15th, 1:12;
-4×100: North Union, 11th, 57.55;
-4×200: North Union, 11th, 2:03.
The remaining events will take place at the district finals Saturday at Westerville North.
