North Union’s boys ran their basketball record to 12-2 with Friday’s 49-45 victory at Graham.
NU doubled its lead on the Falcons at 12-6 by the end of the first quarter.
Graham pulled to within 17-15 at halftime and 31-30 by the end of the third set.
The Wildcats tallied 18 points over the fourth period to pull out the victory.
Preston Crabtree led NU with 17 points, while Zach Vernon added 16.
Owen Davis tallied eight, followed by Trevyn Feasel-five and Aaron Krebehenne-three.

MHS lose by one
The Lady Monarch hoopsters dropped a 32-31 heartbreaker at Hilliard Darby.
MHS held a 7-5 margin at the end of the opening period.
The Panthers’ Ashley Cox tallied six points during the ensuing quarter.
As such, Darby took a 17-11 lead into the halftime break.
Sophie Williams knocked down a trio of trifectas during the third set.
That led to Darby’s 30-20 advantage as action moved into the final stanza.
Tinley Graves led a fierce Lady Monarch rally with five points over the final eight minutes.
The effort, however, fell just a point shy as MHS slipped to 8-4.
Graves led Marysville with 10 points, followed by Ava Krutowskis-nine, Kass Lee-seven, Ava Wilkerson-three and Leah Brown-two.

Panthers fall
Cedarville’s cagers broke a 16-16 first-quarter stalemate en route to a 59-49 victory over Fairbanks.
The second period was rough for the Panthers as they misfired on a number of shots close to the basket.
FHS trailed, 31-21, by halftime.
The Panthers’ offense still struggled during the third period.
The Indians took a 39-28 lead into the final eight minutes of action.
Fairbanks narrowed its deficit to four at one stage of the fourth stanza.
The Panthers trailed by seven with between two and three minutes left to play.
Cedarville, though, hit 10 of its 11 free throws during the fourth period to seal the victory.
Carter Schultz led Fairbanks with 18 points and was joined in double figures by Braylon Green with 14.
Dylan Tobe scored seven, Trey Good and Kyler Wilson both notched four and Grant Rausch added two.
