North Union lost 54-35 on Wednesday at state-ranked (Division III-No. 9) Mechanicsburg in a non-league roundball contest.
The Lady Cats (12-7) trailed 14-5 after the first quarter.
They closed to within 27-19 at the half, but Mechanicsburg (17-1) dominated the second half, outscoring North Union 27-16.
Gabby Lindsey and Kennedy Harrah each had 10 points for North Union, while Audrey Benedict totaled nine markers.
Addison Wedding snared eight rebounds.
Belle Rodgers paced Mechanicsburg with 21 points.
North Union won the junior varsity game 30-25.
Kailin McElroy had 13 points and Emma McElroy added eight for the Lady Cats.

NUMS teams win
North Union Middle School won three of the four basketball games played against Pleasant.
The Lady Cats made a clean sweep of the Lady Spartans, winning the seventh-grade game 31-10 and the eighth-grade contest 34-15.
Chloe McElroy and Emmy Eastman each had seven points in the seventh-grade game.
Glory Blevins led the eighth-grade team with 14 points.
The boys teams split as the seventh-grade team won 41-12, while the eighth-grade team lost 52-24.
Hayze Miller had eighth points for North Union’s seventh-graders and Gabe Wiertel led the eighth-grade team with five points.
