North Union opened its track season on Friday at the Grove Keller Invitational at Colonel Crawford High School.
The Lady Cats finished sixth overall, while the boys team placed eighth.
Gabby Lindsey was the top performer on the day, winning the 200 in the time of 27.31 seconds and leading the field in the long jump with a leap of 16-9.75 feet.
She was a member of the third-place 4×800 team (10:37.55) that included Lauren Hall, Savannah Amstutz and Kennedy Ludwig.
Lindsey also teamed with Corajayne DeBoer, Stella Hancock and Riley Heminger to finish fourth in the 4×200 (1:54.97).
Other placers for the Lady Cats were:
-Ludwig—sixth, 1600 (5:53.12); eighth, 800 (2:38.60);
-Hall—eighth, 3200 (13:27.23);
-DeBoer, Hancock, Rylan Riffle, Heminger—fourth, 4×100 (54.94);
-DeBoer, Lexi Golinghorst, Ludwig, Amstutx—eighth, 4×400 (4:51.39).
Carter Skaggs and Griffin Osborne led the boys team, each placing in three events.
Skaggs was third in the 300 hurdles (43.11), fourth in the 110 hurdles (16.69) and teamed with Traven Reber, Kadrin Riffle and Wyatt Davis to finish seventh in the 4×400 (3:53.71)
Osborne was third in the 200 (23.94), sixth in the long jump (19-8) and joined Nick VanHoose, Brycen Delawder and Jaxon Heminger to finish fourth in the 4×100 (46.97).

-Owen Hoffer—eighth, discus (121-5);
“With it being our spring break week, we were missing some key parts of our squad,” head coach Cole Krawczyk said. “But I was proud of how our team worked throughout the meet and never got discouraged even when things did not go our way.”
