North Union Middle School’s track teams swept the Mechanicsburg Invitational on Friday.
The Wildcats scored 74 points in the boys meet, edging out Bellefontaine by three points.
Triad finished third with 62 points, Fairbanks was seventh with 43 and Bunsold Middle School was 11th with 29.
The Lady Cats easily outdistanced the field in the girls meet, totaling 100 points to lead second-place River Valley by 34.5 points.
Fairbanks was third with 62, points, Bunsold was fifth with 48 points and Triad finished sixth with 46 points.
Earning individual first-place finishes for the local teams were:
-Zaim Habib, North Union (boys 110 meters hurdles, 18.24);
-Avery Eaton, Triad (girls 100 meters hurdles, 17.03 and girls 100, 13.29);
-Leo Winner, Fairbanks (boys 200 hurdles, 28.80);
-Glory Blevins, North Union (girls high jump, 4-6);
-Collin Welch, North Union (boys pole vault, 8-6)
Lily Hall, North Union (girls discus, 75-7)
Sophie Bostock, Fairbanks (girls shot put, 33-2.25)
Winning relay events were North Union (girls 4×800, 11:22.10), Bunsold (boys 4×100, 49.35), Fairbanks (girls 4×200, 1:59.76) and North Union (boys 4×200, 1:44.33).
Cats compete
North Union’s high school squads competed on Saturday at Upper Sandusky in the Gerald Swankhouse Invitational track meet.
The Lady Cats finished fourth overall with 74 points, while the boys team was fifth with 63 points.
Winning events for North Union were Gabby Lindsey in the girls long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 10 inches and Carter Skaggs in the boys 110 hurdles with a time of 18.67 seconds.
