NU girls capture team crown
Amelia Cameron and Rachael Hoover of Fairbanks were the top two girls individual runners during Tuesday’s Triad cross country invitational.
Cameron broke the tape with a time of 20:20.9, while Hoover was clocked in 20:37.5.
North Union’s girls won the team title with 42 points.
The Lady Cats were followed by Mechanicsburg-75, Benjamin Logan-83, Fairbanks-89, Tecumseh-100 and Northeastern-112.
Urbana, Triad, Southeastern and Greeneview did not have enough runners to compile team scores.
Kendal Music of NU was sixth with a time of 21:55.5.
She was followed by teammates Ashley Hayward, ninth, 22:40.9; Ashlee Kohler, 10th, 22:49.5; and Kaylee Smith, 11th, 23:09.9.
Other Lady Panther runners were Linsey Eddy, 18th, 23:56.9; Lily Dellinger, 47th, 28:37.5; Annika Parks, 52nd, 31:40.8; and Alondra Bosworth, 53rd, 34:08.3.
Triad’s Shalyn Smiles was third, crossing the finish line in 21:08.1.
Other Lady Cardinal runners were Tabitha Gaier, 36th, 26:02.2; and Allandra Yorgason, 40th, 26:53.8.
Benjamin Logan won the boys meet with 58 points and North Union was third with 64.
NU’s results were as follows:
Jacob Willis, third, 17:46; Casey Clark, fifth, 17:51; Daniel Burggraf, 10th, 18:09; Chris Isler, 23rd, 19:02; Caleb Isler, 26th, 19:18; Parker Brandt, 38th, 20:34; John Popovich, 43rd, 20:50; William Popovich, 54th, 23:01; and Mitchell Marlette, 58th, 24:02.
The Triad Cardinals were sixth with 131.
Fairbanks did not have enough runners for a team score.
Joe Ferguson of Triad placed 18th in 18:45.2, followed by Wyatt Robison, 21st, 18:55.2.
Panther boys results were Trey Good, 34th, 20:13; Nathan Parks, 41st, 20:49; Nicholas Powell, 44th, 20:55; and Jake Predmore, 62nd, 27:09.
