Fairbanks’ baseball squad slipped to 10-11 overall and 8-7 in the Ohio Heritage Conference after falling at West Liberty-Salem, 3-2.
FHS took a 2-0 lead in the visitors’ portion of the second inning.
The Tigers knotted the score at 2-2 with a pair of runs in the third.
West Liberty plated the winning run in the home half of the sixth.
Cole Justus, Aiden Luellen, Carson Reames and Chase Shope each had one hit for FHS.
Shope also drove in a run.
Dayne Madison started on the mound and went four innings for Fairbanks. He walked three and allowed two hits.
Reames also saw duty on the hill.

Cardinals fall
A 13-2 setback at the hands of Northeastern gave Triad’s baseball squad its 20th loss in 21 outings.
Northeastern tallied six runs in the second and was never really challenged.
JJ Roberts finished with three of Triad’s five hits.
Also hitting safely were Alfred Johnson and Larry Lease.
Wyatt Smith and Blayk Thomas pitched for Triad.
