Fairbanks’ baseball and softball squads turned back Madison Plains on Monday.
The Panther baseball team evened its mark at 6-6 with an 8-7 triumph.
The softball team upped its record to 5-7 overall and 4-4 in the Ohio Heritage Conference after its 6-4 verdict.

The game was deadlocked at 1-1 after three innings.
Fairbanks (which will host Southeastern today) plated three runs in the visitors’ portion of the fourth.
FHS scored four runs over the sixth and seventh frames.
That was enough to withstand six Golden Eagle runs during the fifth-through-seventh frames.
Noah Rausch won the game in relief for the Panthers.
Ethan Blumenschein pitched the seventh inning for the save.
CJ Swartz started on the bump for Fairbanks.
Alex Blumenschein came on in relief during the fourth.
Swartz and Grant Rausch both tallied three hits for the Panthers.
Ryker Beaty and Noah Rausch both had two.
Also hitting safely were Ethan Kise, Evan Blumenschein and Nathan Combs.
Beaty and Noah Rausch combined for five RBIs.

Softball
Sarah Writesel notched the win for the Lady Panthers (who will host Southeastern at 6 p.m. today). She allowed seven hits, struck out three and issued a trio of free passes.
Writesel also led FHS with three hits.
Anna Higbee, Julia Cheney and Lindsey Smith each tallied two hits.
Smith ripped a triple that plated three runs in the top of the second.

Triad’s softball squad needed just five innings to topple Southeastern, 10-0.
The Lady Cardinals scored five runs during the visitors’ portion of the second and coasted to the win.
Joni Russell was the winning pitcher as she allowed just one hit.
Lillian Green led Triad with three hits and a pair of RBIs.
Frani LeVan and Ali Cox both had two hits and each drove in a pair of runs.
Triad (6-9 overall and 4-4 in the OHC) will host Greenon today.

The Cardinal baseball squad rolled to a 10-4 verdict over Southeastern
Triad jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and took an 8-2 margin after five frames.
Coleman Hauk tallied three of the Cardinals’ 11 hits.
Ryan Gross and Batai Lease both had two.
Derek Bails and Blake Boldman both drove in two runs.
Bails started the game on the mound and went two innings.
Boldman pitched the final five and struck out two.
