Triad school officials have announced that Adam Moore will become the new boys head basketball coach.
Moore’s promotion to the top position within the boys hoop program is pending approval by the school district’s board of education.
The board will meet on Thursday, April 28.
Moore was a boys basketball coach at Triad Middle School and previously served as the Cardinals’ freshman coach from 2012-2014.
Moore was one of 14 applicants for the position that was vacated due to Jason Malone’s resignation.
Malone served as the Cardinals’ head coach for the past six seasons.
Moore was one of three finalists who interviewed for the position last week and one of two when that list was further reduced.
Moore will be taking over a Cardinal squad that posted a 9-15 record during the 2021-2022 season.
Triad superintendent Vickie Hoffman said a transition period will get underway.
She added the search for the new coach went well.
