The Pioneers of Jonathan Alder rolled to a 53-36 triumph over Bellefontaine on Friday.
JA (10-2) held an 11-7 edge after the first period and a 23-15 margin by halftime.
The Pioneers climbed to a 35-23 advantage by the conclusion of the third quarter.
Jackson Izzard’s 17 points led JA (which will play at Urbana on Tuesday) in scoring.
Jackie Santa-Emma tallied 16 and Henry Walker added 10.

Panthers fall
Fairbanks’ rally fell just short during a 42-41 loss at Southeastern.
The Panthers trailed, 40-38, when Trey Good of FHS stole the ball with 21.6 ticks on the fourth-quarter clock.
He was fouled and made a free throw to narrow the Panthers’ gap to 40-39.
The Trojans cashed in on a pair of charity tosses to pad their lead at 42-39.
Good then hit a late basket that left FHS one point shy of the home team.
FHS managed only eight points during the first period (two in the second period).
“We weren’t good shooting (three-of-18) in the first half,” said Fairbanks coach Justin George.
The Panthers (7-7 overall and 7-3 in the Ohio Heritage Conference) will host Benjamin Logan today.

Cardinals drop game
Triad’s boys slipped to 1-11 with a 53-39 loss to Springfield Catholic Central.
The Cardinals stayed within striking distance by trailing 22-17 at halftime.
The Irish, though, climbed to a 40-26 margin by the end of the third quarter.
Dillon Nott and Batai Lease led Triad with 12 points apiece, followed by Drew Campbell-eight, Ayden Spriggs-four, Greg Sizemore-two and Wyatt Cole-one.
