The Hot Shots volleyball club’s 17 American squad recently won its second tournament of the year at Game Time Sports in Urbana. Hot Shots played up in an 18-year-old tournament and posted a 6-0 record. Pool play included victories over Miami Valley Phoenix (Dayton) 25-17, 25-11; The Tribe VBC (Parkersburg, WV) 25-16, 25-12; and London Elite 17-25, 25-11, 15-9. Bracket play resulted in a win over Cincy Classics (Mason) 25-19, 23-25, 15-10. In the gold tournament semifinal game, Hot Shots defeated New Wave (Newark) 25-14, 25-17. Hot Shots claimed the gold championship match by defeating the Grandlake VBC team (Celina) 21-25, 25-19, 16-14.
