The girls tennis teams from Marysville and Jonathan Alder won matches on Thursday.
The Lady Monarchs defeated Mt. Vernon, 3-2, while JA swept Bellefontaine, 5-0.
MHS-Mt. Vernon
Marysville claimed top honors in both doubles matches.
-First doubles: Krista O’Shelski and Caitlee Hill (M) downed Anna Dinnen and Emma Annett 6-2, 6-0;
-Second doubles: Emily Thallman and Hanna Hogan (M) topped Leah Gourley and Faith Smith 6-0, 6-1.
Emma Pzedpelski of MHS won the second singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 verdict over Lucy Ogle.
Mallory Huffman of Marysville dropped the first singles match to Justine Hull 3-6, 2-6.
MHS’ Alyssa Scott lost the third singles contest to Marah Staats 5-7, 0-6.
JA-Bellefontaine
The Lady Pioneers had little trouble in any set against the Chieftains.

Second: Chloe Sullivan (JA) topped Gracie Middaugh, 6-2, 6-0;
-Third: Brooklyn Banks (JA) downed Julia Easton 6-2, 6-1.
Doubles
-First: Abigail and Eliza Watkins (JA) defeated Samantha Starkey and Ming Wang 6-0, 6-1;
-Second: Ali Craig and Maddie Wilson (JA) downed Alisa Shields and Madi Williams 6-0, 6-1.
