An assistant coach in the Marysville High School boys basketball program is one of two final candidates for the head coaching position at Triad High School.
Josh Weikart, who was the Monarchs’ junior varsity coach this past winter, is one of two applicants who is scheduled to meet today with Triad school superintendent Vickie Hoffman.
The other candidate scheduled to talk to Hoffman is Adam Moore.
Moore is currently a middle school boys hoop coach at Triad. He previously was the Cardinals’ boys freshman coach from 2012-2014.
Triad athletic director Logan Dunn informed the Journal-Tribune of today’s meeting between the final two and the superintendent.
Weikart and Moore were among the final three candidates who went in for a second round of interviews at the school last week.
A total of 14 individuals applied for the position that was recently vacated by the resignation of Jason Malone.
Malone held the job for six seasons.
Dunn told the newspaper this morning that a recommendation on Malone’s successor could come within the next “48 to 72 hours.”
