Triad’s girls hoop squad dropped a 58-53 verdict to West Jefferson on Thursday.
The Lady Cardinals (2-6) trailed by just an 11-9 margin at the end of the opening period.
Gabbie King of West Jefferson poured in 11 points during the second quarter and led her team to a 32-23 margin at the turn.
The Riders took a 43-30 lead into the final eight minutes of action.
Frani LeVan led Triad with 17 points, while twin sister Cati tossed in 13 and Olivia Butz added 12.
The Lady Cardinals will travel to Madison Plains on Saturday.
