The North Union boys and girls track teams opened the 2022 season by competing in a quad meet at Ada’s War Memorial Park.
Both teams finished in third place. The boys scored 50.5 points and the Lady Cats totaled 46 points.
Indian Lake took first in each meet.
Earning first-place finishes for the boys were Lincoln Harrah (100 meters), 4×100 (Ricky Weigand, Ethan Young, Tyler Fout, Harrah) and Tyler Huff (3200 meters).
Savannah Amstutz took first place in the girls 400 meters.
Also scoring points in the boys meet were the 4×800 relay team of Tyler Huff, Trey Bossaller, Traven Reber and Brayden Scowden (third); Ethan Young (second, 100 meters); the 4×200 relay team of Weigand, Zane Temple, Bossaller, Fout (third); Huff (second, 1600 meters); Bossaller (third, 400 meters); Reber (fourth, 400 meters); Fout (third, 200 meters); Weigand (fourth, 200 meters); Henry Hayward (second, pole vault); Griffin Saylor (third, discus); and Harrah (second, shot put).
Earning place points for the Lady Cats were the 4×800 relay team of Lauren Hall, Ashley Hayward, Lacetyn Riffle, Amstutz (second); Riley Heminger (fifth, 100 meters); Riley Heminger (fifth, 100 meters); the 4×200 relay team of Corajayne DeBoer, Riffle, Kennedy Grubb and Catherine Hinkle (third); Hayward (third, 1600 meters); Hall (fourth, 1600 meters); the 4×100 relay team of DeBoer, Lindsay Willis, Grubb, Heminger (second); Hinkle (fifth, 400 meters); Hayward (second, 800 meters); Hall (fifth, 800); Gillian Stone (fourth, 200 meters); Heminger (fifth, 200 meters); Hayward (second, 3200 meters); the 4x relay 400 team of Amstutz, Riffle, DeBoer, Hinkle (fourth); Evie Clark (fifth, pole vault); Kaylee Brestle (third, discus); Lily Leavitt (fourth, discus); Alyssa Frisco (fifth, discus); and Brestle (fourth, shot put).
