For the second time this season, a local high school golfer has hit a hole-in-one.
Marysville High School freshman Olivia Ishmael performed the links milestone Thursday afternoon at the Denison Golf Club.
“Ishy,” as she is called by her teammates, aced the par 3, No. 7 hole, which is 138 yards.
Ishmael’s ace follows the one scored a couple weeks ago by Fairbanks’ Emily Wilson.
The shot was part of Ishmael’s score of 49 as the Lady Monarchs won a triangular match.
MHS shot a 187, Granville tallied a 196 and Lakewood finished with a 212.
Katie Bischoff led Marysville with a 43, followed by Olivia Virts-47 and Maddie Powers-48.
“The opponents’ parents witnessed it and roared,” said MHS coach Juliet Litzel. “I was at the next tee box and Olivia walked over to me and handed me her card with a stoic face. I looked and saw the one as her score and asked, ‘Did you get a hole in one?’
“With a huge grin, she said yes,” said Litzel. “It was so exciting.”
