Douglas Michael Hampton, age 74, of Springfield, died peacefully Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the home of his niece and nephew in Zanesfield. A corrections officer for the State of Ohio, he retired from the Ohio Reformatory for Women. A veteran of the United States Army, he served as a medic on the island of Oahu. Nancy Darlene Rea Pfarr, age 87, of Marysville, died in her sleep on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Walnut Crossing Assisted Living. She was a cafeteria cook at Trinity Lutheran School for over 40 years. A longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she served in many activities, including church choir, altar guild and helped prepare congregational dinners and funeral luncheons. The community will celebrate the Marysville High School Football Team reaching the Elite 8 with a pep rally on Thursday in front of the Avalon Theatre at 6 p.m. The Marysville Police Department said routes and traffic will be impacted for about two hours Thursday, beginning at 5 p.m.. South Main Street will be closed from Fifth to Sixth streets and Sixth Street will be closed from Court and Plum streets.
