Members of the First Congregational United Church of Christ youth group were walking through the Marysville uptown area recently and group members were handing out homemade treats as part of an initiative to spread kindness. The group even included a gluten-free sweet option. A pair of Union County residents has been charged with voting violations after state and federal officials claimed the men are not United States citizens. The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Troy Groehl and Mohamed Ahmed on unrelated charges. Ahmed, 24, of 9565 Pinewood Court, Plain City, is charged with one count of false voter registration. An Uber driver has been indicted after delivering a passenger to Marysville then allegedly raping her. The Union County Grand Jury has charged Muzaffer Sakin, 57, of Columbus, with two counts of rape, two counts of sexual battery and one count of gross sexual imposition. Union County Prosecutor Dave Phillips said that on the evening of Feb. 15, the victim had been out drinking with friends in Delaware County. A concert, originally planned for the Spring Fork Farm in Irwin, has been moved. Officials from Luke Bryan’s Farm Tour 2018 have announced the concert, planned for Sept. 27, will not be at the farm. Officials have confirmed a field in Irwin will be part of Luke Bryan’s Farm Tour 2018. Aaron Boerger, owner and operator of Spring Fork Farms, has confirmed the farm will host the tour’s opening concert on Sept. 27. “They just kind of decided they wanted this area and they picked the spot,” Boerger said. Boerger said the parking will open at 2 p.m. with the concert beginning at 5 p.m. Opening acts for the six-engagement tour have not been announced. County officials are asking a Jerome Township landowner for help making infrastructure improvements in the area at Monday night’s township trustee meeting. While the request was made in private, John Wirchanski gave a very public answer at the meeting. Wirchanski said the county has asked him to donate land to help with improvements at Hyland Croy Road.
