Commissioner Gary Lee has said a proposed FedEx distribution center could make history. “I believe this will be the first time a development of this size has not been offered any type of tax incentive,” said Union County Commissioner Gary Lee. 42 Real Estate LLC is moving forward with plans to develop a 530,000-square-foot trucking distribution center 8341 Industrial Parkway in Jerome Township. MITCHELL –––– The woman who allegedly sold the drugs that killed a Marysville woman is now under indictment. The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Latoya Blanche Mitchell, 33, of 146 Silver Maple Dr., Delaware. According to court documents, Mitchell sold crack cocaine and heroin to Sydney Allmon. Union County Prosecutor David Phillips said Allmon and another individual went to Delaware to buy the drugs. State Senator Dave Burke, of Marysville, has introduced legislation that would make many fake or spam cell phone calls illegal. A Columbus man and woman are facing felony charges in Union County in connection with a series of retail thefts. The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Erika Ann Fowler, 34, and Terry Rose, 38, each charged with two counts of theft and one count each of receiving stolen property and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. According to court documents, between October and December, Fowler, Rose and an unidentified man stole from stores in Union, Champaign, Logan, Franklin and Clark counties. Former Jerome Township Trustee Andy Thomas was at Monday’s meeting to discuss the future of development along Route 161. “You don’t want to give that ground away,” Thomas told the trustees.
