Marysville City Council is moving forward to approve changes to the city’s zoning code. At Monday’s meeting, council heard a first reading of legislation that would amend the city’s zoning code. Zoning Administrator Ron Todd told council that as part of the city’s comprehensive plan, officials wanted to update the code to bring it into line with the comprehensive plan and to modernize it. “The process we went through to update our zoning code is a lengthy, complex and sometimes difficult process,” Emery said. Some schools close as area blanketed by layer of snow Union County residents are waking up to a blanket of white, the season’s first snow. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures dipped into the teens overnight as a covering of snow hit Marysville. “Paving Saturday and plowing Monday! WARREN A bout of what prosecutors are calling “unlucky timing” has led to charges for a Marysville man who was attacked in his own home. Marcus Warren, 23, of 127 Hemlock Drive, is charged with one count each of felonious assault and aggravated assault. A local man is facing charges after he allegedly fired shots at a house following an altercation. The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Estell T. Crabtree, 31, of 22839 Northwest Parkway, charging him with one count each of burglary, having weapons under disability, assault and discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises. The Ohio Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that it will contribute another $4.3 million to the project to improve the interchange at U.S. 33/state Route 161 and Post Road. Marysville officials want to look at the possibility of expanding the Marysville Outdoor Refreshment Area. Last summer the city created the Marysville Outdoor Refreshment Area (MORA) for one event, then expanded it to all of the city’s Friday Night Uptown events. Within that district, residents can buy a drink from an event or restaurant and carry it throughout the Uptown. Residents can take that drink into participating businesses, but not into other liquor-selling establishments.
