The Union County Grand Jury has indicted a pair of men on unrelated charges, stemming from two separate deaths. The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Dustin James Redmon, 27, of Marion, charging him with one count each of involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs, trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin. Union County Prosecutor Dave Phillips said that on Aug. 26, 2017, law enforcement officials were called to a home on Boundary Road. When they arrived, they found the victim dead of an overdose. A Windmill Drive man could be facing more than six decades in prison after allegedly watching then raping a child. Timothy Allen Bruce, 50, of 460 Windmill Drive, Apt. 41, Marysville, has been indicted on four counts of rape along with three counts of gross sexual imposition and one count each of voyeurism, importuning and disseminating material harmful to juveniles. According to court documents, between July and August 2017, Bruce repeatedly raped a girl. Union County Prosecutor said the man knew the girl. A Jerome Township ballot measure will be counted. The Ohio Supreme Court recently ruled that a referendum initiative on the November ballot will be counted. In January, Paragon Building Group, Ltd., filed an application to rezone 210.62 acres of land in Jerome Township. The Jerome Township Zoning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approving the request, which the trustees did in July. A man could be facing nearly two decades in prison after allegedly breaking into a Marysville home and attacking the resident with a pencil. Marysville officials have installed signage called “sharrows” on several city streets. The bicycle with arrows markings are on what city officials are calling the preferred bike route through Marysville. The sharrows are on Maple, Sixth and Chestnut streets. Officials say costs will hold through 2025 Marysville is moving forward with plans for a new water treatment plant, but officials are pledging that despite the cost, they will hold utility rates steady for at least five years. At a recent work session, Marysville Finance Director Justin Nahvi said the city “will not even consider raising rates” until 2025. Is arrested for violating terms of probation The former Marysville teacher, convicted of having sex with one of her students is back behind bars. Stacy L. Boster McConoughey, 41 of 4100 Appian Way Court, Apt. Q, Gahanna, is in Tri-County Regional Jail on a probation violation. According to court documents, on Oct. 2, Probation Officer Christopher Miller asked Union County Common Pleas Court Judge Don Fraser to revoke McConoughey’s probation and to issue an arrest warrant. A long-worked on, much-talked about economic development agreement between Marysville and Jerome Township will come before City Council next week. At Monday night’s city council work session, the body heard details of a proposed joint economic development district (JEDD). Officials say the JEDD establishes tax revenue sharing between the jurisdictions in order to improve and expand infrastructure to ready sites for development in a more cost efficient and effective manner.
