Firefighters work to extinguish a garage fire at a residence on Fulton Creek Road Monday at about 3:25 p.m. According to Northern Union County Fire Chief Randy Riffle, the blaze is believed to be the result of a chimney fire. Major damage was confined to the garage, while other areas of the house sustained minor smoke damage. Riffle said the Northern Union County Fire District received assistance from the Leesburg Township Fire Station, the Liberty Township Fire Station and the Radnor Township Fire Department. Parents and children convened at the Marysville Public Library on Saturday morning for its “Noon Year’s Eve” celebration. Library Community Engagement Manager Bethany Anderson estimated about 100 people turned out to the festivities. This is the first year the library hosted the event, which allowed children to celebrate the new year without having to stay up until midnight. Marysville Fire and EMS crews responded to a crash on Columbus Avenue at about 1 40 p.m. Tuesday. According to Marysville Police Chief Floyd Golden, the crash involved a 2014 Dodge Caravan, driven by David Miller, 58, of Marysville, pulling out of a driveway and getting struck by a southbound 2008 Dodge truck driven by Michael Rice, 20, of Marysville.
