Dear Editor,
I would like to encourage the residents of Union County to vote “yes” for the Union County Health Department levy renewal on Nov. 6. As a member of several Union County committees, I have witnessed firsthand the vital role our health department plays in our everyday lives.
The Richwood Trail, Richwood Farmers Market, Safe Walks to School, the flu clinic, Union County Falls Coalition, well checks, newborn home visits, immunizations and the food service inspections are just a few of the many programs provided to us through our health department.
I am impressed with the professionalism and the variety of programs provided to us through our Union County Health Department. They are a hands-on group of individuals, showing up wherever and whenever they are called upon. The levy is not a new levy, but a renewal of the existing .75 mill 10-year levy with a .15 mill increase.
The Union County Health Department has not had an increase in any new money for many years.
Please vote “yes” for our families, our community and our county.
