The Lady Cats of North Union are a softball team looking like they are ready for the opening stage of the Ohio High School Athletic Association tournament.
North Union was able to cruise to a 17-0 win over Mid Ohio Athletic Conference competitor Buckeye Valley on Tuesday.
The Lady Cats cranked up the bats early, tallying five runs with a collection of singles by the top of the line-up.
Josie Duncan took the circle for North Union and had a strong showing.
She kept BV’s bats at bay with only three hits. She fanned nine batters.
The North Union bats continued to stay hot throughout the game as the Lady Cats tallied another four runs in the second inning.
The offensive barrage continued throughout four innings of offense with six runs coming in the fourth inning.
The win brings the Lady Cats’ record to 17-1 overall on the season and head coach Dawn Draper’s career wins total to 399.
The Lady Cats will return to action today when they travel to Buckeye Valley.
