Alexander Crowe of Fairbanks found himself a few strokes over the leader at Monday’s Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association event at Marion County Club. Crowe turned in an eight-over-par 79 to take fourth place, while the leader, Alew Prett, stroked his way to a two-over-par 73.
Crowe struggled early at the 152-yard par three at hole two, turning in a double bogey. Crowe was able to gain a stroke back at the 310-yard par four at hole eight with a birdie to put him only three shots over par at 35.
The Panther golfer bogied his first four holes on the back nine, but was able to shoot for par on four of his next five holes.
Crowe’s brother, Andrew took the sixth spot in the 16-18 division with a 12 over par 83. Andrew was eight strokes over par with a 43 on the front nine, but was able to pick up a few pars on the back nine to help him take sixth place.
In the 13-15 Chase Brackenridge, also of Fairbanks, landed in the third spot with a 14 over par 85. The division leader, Brock Montgomery, took the top spot with an 11 over par 82. Brackenridge found seven pars during the 18-hole match to finish in the bronze spot.
In the 12 and under division the Reiser brothers, Anderson and William, of Marysville took the one and two positions during the nine-hole event. Anderson finished in first with a 15-over-par 50, while William was only two strokes behind.
North Union’s Jenson Stover turned in a 70 to take eighth place, while Scout Scheiderer of Marysville finished with a 75 for 10th place.

Alexander Crowe also took fourth place at Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course in Kenton during the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association’s previous meet July 2. Alexander finished the Kenton course with a five-over-par 75. Keller Spencer won the match with a three-under-par 69.
Alexander picked up birdies at holes two and 18 to help the third place finish. Andrew finished with a 15-over-par 87 to take 10th place. Andrew sank nine par shots during the event.
In the 13-15 division Brackenridge tied for third place with a 13-over-par 85. Brackenridge landed seven par attempts.
In the 12 and under division, Anderson took the top spot with a 14-over-par 50 during the nine-hole event. William tied for second place with a 17-over-par 53, while Grady Wisecup of Fairbanks finished with a 66 for ninth place. North Union’s Stover completed the course with a 68 for 10th.
Heart of Ohio golfers will travel to Kings Mills Golf Club in Waldo for their next stop on the tour July 16.
