The brackets have been formed and the dates are set for the high school softball and baseball post-season.
Coaches from around the state converged on Sunday at various locations to vote on seeding for the Ohio High School Athletic Association statewide tournament. Some local teams received high praise, as they were put at the top of some brackets.
The Marysville High School Lady Monarchs are seeded number one in the Division I Pickerington 4 softball bracket.
After a first-round bye, MHS will open the tournament with a home game on Wednesday, May 9. Marysville will play the winner of the 39th seeded Northland vs. 40th seeded Franklin Heights game.
In Division II, the Lady Pioneers of Jonathan Alder are seeded number two in the Pickerington 2 bracket. Their tournament will begin in the second round at home on Thursday, May 10.
They will face either 17th seed Linden McKinley or 13th seeded Centennial.
North Union earned the top seed in the Division III Pickerington 2 bracket and will open tournament action at home on May 10.
The Lady Cats will play against the winner of the 16th seeded Centerburg vs. 19th seeded Mount Gilead game.
The 13th seeded Lady Panthers of Fairbanks will open D-III tournament action with the home field advantage in the Pickerington 1 District against 15th seeded Heath. That game is set for Tuesday, May 8.
In Division IV, the 13th seeded Lady Cardinals of Triad will start their tournament trail on the road in the Southwest 2 bracket. The Lady Cards will travel to Sidney to take on 11th seeded Lehman Catholic on May 8.
The Marysville High School baseball team founded itself seeded 16th in the Division I Central 3 District, giving them a first-round bye and home field advantage
The Monarchs will face either 18th seeded Mount Vernon vs. 32nd seeded Reynoldsburg. The Monarchs will play on May 9.
Jonathan Alder will also have a first-round bye in D-II and home field advantage in the Central 2 District after a second-place seeding. The Pioneers will take on the winner of the 13th seeded Bexley vs. 16th seeded Eastmoor Academy game. Alder will play on May 10.
Fairbanks and North Union will play in the Division III Central 1 District.
The Panthers will have a first-round bye as the fifth seed and will have wait on the outcome of the 12th seeded Columbus Academy vs. 15th seeded Utica game.
FHS will play one of those teams at home on May 10.
The sixth-seeded Wildcats will open tournament action at home onMay 10 against eighth-seeded Newark Catholic.
The Triad Cardinals earned the fourth seed in Division IV.
They will have an opening round bye and will wait on the outcome of the ninth-seeded Bradford vs. fifth seeded-Mississinawa Valley game in the Dayton 3 District.
The Cardinals will open tournament action at home on May 9.
