Marysville’s boys bowling team set a new single-match school record during Tuesday’s loss to Olentangy Orange.
The Monarchs rolled a score of 2544.
The Pioneers finished with a score of 2549.
Zach Tompkins led MHS with a 501 series on games of 264 and 237.
He was followed by Kayla Helton-452, Michael Helton Jr.-434 and Landon Winfield-416.
Tyler Monnin and Blake Angel each bowled one game. Monnin finished with a 166 and Angel tallied a 125.
North Union splits match with Galion
The North Union Lady Cats bowling team continue to find a way to win as it rolled past the Lady Tigers of Galion, 1918-1634.
Alexis Jamison of NU stood out as the top performer of the match with a two-game total of 390.
Allyia Nicol tossed a solid 349 over two games to help the Cats in the win.
Katie Buckingham came in at 321 after two games and Kallie Price bowled a 296 two-game total.
Kierstan Diaz made her varsity debut with a single-game total of 159 and Abby Anderson helped in the win with a 122.
The win increased the Lady Cats’ record to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference.
The North Union boys came up a little short to the Tigers, who won 2336-2187.
Connor Brandt was the Cats’ top bowler with a two-game total of 398.
Matt Quigley was only a few pins behind with a 389.
Riley Young turned in a 368-pin performance over two games and Blain Keckler added 338 to the total.
Matt Millington rolled a single-game score of 164, while Grant Daum added a 153.
The Wildcats will return to the lanes on Friday when they face off against River Valley at Marysville Lanes.
