Jonathan Alder’s boys and girls cross-country squads made it a clean sweep by winning the Benjamin Logan Early Bird Invitational on Tuesday.
The Alder boys captured top honors in their race with 15 points, followed by Emmanuel Christian-86, North Union-96, Tecumseh-103, Benjamin Logan-111, Marion Harding-183, Triad-188, Urbana-196, Hardin Northern-222, Graham-246, Ada-300 and Cory Rawson-346.
Fairbanks did not have enough runners to compile a team score.
JA tallied 35 points to claim victory in the girls meet.
Tecumseh was the runner-up with 56, followed by Fairbanks-92, North Union-102, Benjamin Logan-106, Marion Harding-180, Hardin Northern-183 and Emmanuel Christian-218.
Michael Gray of Alder was the individual winner of the boys race. He broke the tape in 18:15.2.
The Pioneers took the top five slots in the competition.
Luke Malone was second in 18:15.4, followed by Jonas Watkins, third, 18:34.1; Caleb Freyhof, fourth, 18:36.5; and Zach Hicks, fifth, 18:40.3.
Joel Krebehenne was the first NU runner across the line. He was seventh in 19:02.
Other top finishers for the Wildcats were Casey Clark, 11th, 19:28.1; and Jacob Willis, 13th, 19:40.1.
Triad’s top runner was Eli O’Brien, who was 16th with a clocking of 19:53.8.
Aidan Groves of FHS was 18th in 20:00.3.
Amelia Cameron of Fairbanks was the top local girls runner. She placed fourth in 21:09.9.
Teammate Adeline Fitzwater was sixth in 21:49.4.
Jonathan Alder had runners in a tight pack as it notched places 7-12.
Avery Pierce was seventh in 21:58.6; followed by Morgan Hicks, eighth, 21:59.0; Avery Wynk, ninth, 22:02.6; Maddie Davis, 10th, 22:02.6; Reggan Gray, 11th, 22:08.7; and Eliza Streit, 12th, 22:10.2.
North Union’s top two runners were Kendal Music, 18th, 24:23.0; and Ashlee Kohler, 23rd, 25:17.8.
