The Marysville Stingrays kicked off their 2019 summer swimming season at the Marysville Municiple Swimming Pool on Thursday in a head-to-head contest against Dublin.
Dublin was able to best the Rays by a score of 1,003-789 with the Marysville girl’s team tallying 466 points while the boys where able to amass 323.
Despite the loss Stingrays coach Kristin Williams said the “Stingrays were greatly outnumbered, with Dublin entering 100 (swimmers) to Marysville’s 57.” Williams added that the meet was a “great start to the season.”
Earning top honors for the Marysville girl’s team was Maggie Potridge in the six and under group, Emma Hubbard in the eight and under, Molly Murphy in the 10 and under, Sadie Lucas in the 12 and under, Molly Gregory in the 14 and under and Sophie Taracko in the 18 and under.
For the boy’s team, Joey Taracko took home top honors in the eight and under group, Patrick Filbert in the 10 and under, Mac Rausch in the 12 and under, Joey Hazelbaker in the 14 and under and Hank Luther in the 18 and under.
