Fairbanks’ spikers upped their record to 11-8 with Tuesday’s 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-23 victory at Northeastern. The verdict marked Northeastern’s first loss during Ohio Heritage Conference matches in more than two seasons. Anna Higbee led FHS with seven kills and 26 assists. Caydee Breneman finished with six kills and 17 assists. Fairbanks will host West Jefferson on Thursday. According to Marysville Police Department reports: Dustin Michael Decker, 31, of Richwood was cited for felonious assault in the 10000 block of U.S. 42 at 11:31 p.m. Monday. Marysville’s varsity girls tennis squad scored a 3-2 victory over Wapakoneta on Monday. Blair Fairchild of MHS won the second singles match. She topped Addisyn Cooper 6-2, 6-3. Marysville captured both doubles matches. Hanna Hogan and Emma Pzedpelski won the first doubles match. They turned back Abby Metzger and McKenzie Schroeds by a 6-2, 7-5 verdict. Krista O’Shelski and Caitlee Hill beat Baing Brett and Elisabeth Good 4-6, 7-5, 6-0 during the second doubles competition. O’Shelski and Hill concluded the regular season with a record of 18-2. North Union’s varsity volleyball team lost in three sets, 16-25, 18-25, 14-25, on Saturday at Johnstown-Monroe. Hope Hall and Zoe Wedding led the Lady Cats in kills with six each while Sienna Ballinger added five. Wedding totaled seven assists, while Candace Holloway counted five. Rachael Hoover of Fairbanks added another championship to her resume on Saturday. The Panther sophomore placed first during the Erin Nance Invitational at London. Hoover toured the course with a time of 20:52.7. Bunsold Middle School’s eighth-grade football team roared past Dubin Grizzell, 30-6, late last week. The Monarchs improved to 6-0 on the season. Bunsold rolled up 338 yards rushing and was led by Zach Bisang’s 93 yards and two touchdowns on six carries. Waylon McDaniel followed with 81 yards on seven carries with a touchdown and a two-point conversion. JJ Henry also had 74 yards and a touchdown.
