The Union County Health Department is reporting eight, lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county as of Sunday afternoon. Those affected range from 31 to 83 years old. The median age is 46.5 years of age, with an average of 51.4 years. The cases are equally split between males and females. According to Ohio Department of Health data, there are no hospitalizations of cases in Union County. As the number of confirmed cases increases, Gov. The health department indicated the affected individual is an adult female. As of noon Thursday, Union County reports four adult females and one adult male have tested positive for the virus. Union Rural Electric Cooperative (URE), an electric and natural gas distribution cooperative serving Union County, is returning more than $3.55 million back to its consumer-members. Most members will receive the refund in the form of a credit on their April bills to help offset some of the financial hardship their members might be facing due to COVID-19.
