The Union County Health Department received notice Monday of a fourth, lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 in the county. The affected individual is an adult female. As of March 30, UCHD reports three adult females and one adult male have tested positive for the virus in Union County. A contact investigation is underway to identify and notify close contacts of the individual. Those in close contact to the individual will be notified by public health. The Free Little Library on West Fourth Street in Marysville is temporarily closed at the advice of the owner’s doctor. The owner, allowed users time to retrieve books before closing the library and has provided an option of some books that have not been touched since before the virus. The owner did recommend users wash their hands after taking a book and after reading it. Colleen K. Shirk, 75, of Marysville died Saturday morning, March 28 at Select Services in Columbus following an extended illness. A person of great faith, she was a longtime member of The Restored Church of God. In her employment years, she was a home care health aid and nurse aid. Memorial Hospital Chaplain Jim Taylor organized member of the Marysville Area Ministerial Association for a gathering in the hospital parking lot Sunday. Daisy B. Adkins, 85, of Plain City died peacefully March 27, 2020 at her daughter’s home. She was born Jan. 5, 1935 in Madison, West Virginia. Last week the federal government announced it would extend the usual April 15 deadline for filing and paying income tax to July 15.
