The Union County Health Department received notice Monday of a fourth, lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 in the county. The affected individual is an adult female. As of March 30, UCHD reports three adult females and one adult male have tested positive for the virus in Union County. A contact investigation is underway to identify and notify close contacts of the individual. Those in close contact to the individual will be notified by public health. The Free Little Library on West Fourth Street in Marysville is temporarily closed at the advice of the owner’s doctor. The owner, allowed users time to retrieve books before closing the library and has provided an option of some books that have not been touched since before the virus. The owner did recommend users wash their hands after taking a book and after reading it. Colleen K. Shirk, 75, of Marysville died Saturday morning, March 28 at Select Services in Columbus following an extended illness. A person of great faith, she was a longtime member of The Restored Church of God. In her employment years, she was a home care health aid and nurse aid.
