–––– Melanie K. Blumenschein, 59, of Marysville, died Wednesday afternoon, July 3, 2019, at OSU Hospitals with her family at her side following a brief illness. She was an administrative assistant at Honda of America and a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being a mother to her two sons, always caring for others, and she also enjoyed cooking. She was a happy person and always had a smile on her face. Roads were closed, trees poles and homes were damaged and power was out in portions of northern Union County after a severe thunderstorm moved through the area Tuesday evening. Officials said they believe straight line winds broke 10 large transmission line poles (left photo) on Route 37, between Richwood and Essex. Officials said additional power poles were damaged throughout the area. Ohio Edison estimated the damage took out power for 1,200 residents. Crews worked to re-route power to the village by midnight. The 58th reunion of the John Parthemore Morse and Mary Jane Mitchell Morse family was held on June 23, 2019 at the home of Pam Morse and Teresa Wallis. The business meeting was conducted by President Chad Morse. All officers were retained for the next year.
