According to Plain City Police Department reports: On May 21 at 10:07 a.m., an officer responded to U.S. 42 North as a backup for UCSO deputy who had a vehicle stopped for traffic violations. Officers responded to Shepper Avenue in reference to a domestic dispute May 22 at 11:17 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the caller who advised his daughter and her boyfriend were in a verbal dispute. The Pioneer Nation cheered the Jonathan Alder softball team to the Division II regional championship Saturday at Pickerington Central High School. The Lady Pionees came back from three runs down to defear the Thornville Sheridan Generals 13-3. Jonathan Alder will play Poland Seminary at 3 p.m., Thursday at Akron Firestone Stadium in the state semifinals. The winner will play Saturday at 1 p.m. for the OHSAA Division II State Championship. The Marysville Public Library is hosting a summer reading program that encourages children to read more by offering prizes for time spent reading. The program, called “A Universe of Stories,” provides young readers with booklets used to track the time they spend reading from now until July 31. Parents or children can pick up a free booklet at the library. The booklet also has space for students to track activities aside from reading. After completing 10 hours of reading and 10 activities, readers can present the completed booklet at the library to receive a coupon packet. If students double that…

John “Johnny” James, 65, of Marysville, died Friday, May 24, 2019 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus as a result of a sudden cardiac arrest. He owned and worked at Bob Gordon TV Service alongside his father-in-law for many years in Marysville. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping in previous years.
