While sales of Honda’s flagship car are slipping, company official say they expect a record year in total sales. According to numbers from Honda, sales of the Accord are down 14.1 percent through August. In January, the 2018 Accord was named the North American Car of the Year. Sales of the sedan have now dropped for 10 straight months. Total sales for American Honda, which include all Honda and Acura vehicles, are down just 1.3 percent for the year. A Delaware man has been charged with raping a girl he was supposed to be protecting. A Union County Grand Jury has indicted Dwayne Allen Slone, 33, of 370 Eastwood Ave., Delaware. Slone is charged with five counts of rape, 15 counts of sexual battery, 12 counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and one count each of gross sexual imposition, intimidation and possession of criminal tools. According to court documents, between July and October 2017, Slone repeatedly raped and abused a then 14-year-old girl. Jerome Township officials are talking about commercial and residential growth. At Monday night’s meeting of the board of trustees, officials said they were leery of a company that had showed interest in the area. Trustee Ron Rhodes said the township was given four hours to make a decision on a company that officials knew nothing about. “If you are coming in here like that, we have to take the attitude that maybe we don’t want them,” Rhodes said. Stambaugh, 40, of 1202 Montclair Ct., Marysville. Stambaugh is charged with one count each of theft, receiving stolen property and safecracking. The man who allegedly held law enforcement officials at bay with an ax at Honda has been indicted. Max W. Arnold, 30, of 628 Kenny Lane, Marysville, has been indicted on one count each of inducing panic and obstructing official business, stemming from an Aug. 31 incident. That day, Union County Sheriffs Deputies went to Honda’s Marysville Auto Plant to serve a felony indictment warrant issued earlier that day on Arnold. A Richwood driver has been charged following a crash that killed an area teen. Christopher Conrad, 19, of 24660 Route 4, Richwood, has been indicted by the Union County Grand Jury, charged with one count each of aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
