We spent a week living with host families in Segovia and then traveled to Granada, Córdoba, Nerja, and Toledo. The experience was a once in a lifetime trip. We went on this trip expecting to make friends but came out with family. The memories, the food we ate, the experiences we gained, and the hospitality we received was unforgettable. The accounting and finance business classes at Marysville High School (MHS) recently participated in the Stock Market Game based out of Cincinnati. Students worked together to create and manage a virtual investment portfolio of real world stocks, bonds and mutual funds and had $100,000 to invest. Each team was responsible for researching and evaluating potential investments. Team members also had to efficiently come together on cooperative decisions on where to buy, sell, or hold the stocks, funds and bonds in the portfolio they created. FAITH ENGLE By Chase Cutarelli Faith Audra Engle is the daughter of Holly Stewart and Leroy Engle. An athletic high school student, she served as the girl’s lacrosse team captain since junior year, a defender for one year and goalie for three years. The Marysville Board of Education voted unanimously Thursday night to place a permanent renewal levy on the Nov. 6 ballot. If approved, the 6.56-mill renewal operating levy would not increase taxes, but would become permanent and never come before voters again. Also before voters will be an issue to shift capital improvement money into operating funds. Originally passed in 1989 and renewed five times since, the operating levy generates about $3.2 million per year. The five-year levy, set to expire in December of 2019, is the only renewal levy remaining on the district books. The levy currently collects at about 2.69…

Residents will be able to decide on a levy that will impact funding for Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s proposed expansion on May 8. Hi-Point is a two-year career-technical school district located at 2280 State Route 540 in Bellefontaine. It serves students in grades 11 and 12 from 14 partner school districts covering five counties at our main campus.
